Gettysburg

For some, the battle never ends.

Ghosts are more than just stories.

Spirits stuck in time? Traumatized souls reaching out through the veil? Etheric bodies slowly dissipating? However you explain it to yourself, it’s definitely going on here. Living nearby and being somewhat of a military history buff, I took the family camping at Gettysburg. We toured the battlefields. We walked the cemetery. We paid our respects. The experience is extraordinary if you’re open to it. Little Round Top, Devil’s Den, The Angle, Cemetery Ridge. Pickett’s Charge and retreat. I walked them all. And was moved to create something in honor of an event in American history that reverberates still to this day. A haunted B&B that gave ghost walk tours took me up on the offer. It was the only time in my career I was paid in period cooking and Civil War reference books.
